The Accuro Jersey Triathlon has raised £33,000 for its official charities since 2014. We are pleased to confirm this year's benefiting charities will be Brightly, Dementia Jersey and benefiting entity Oscar Maclean Foundation.

We encourage all competitors to help raise funds for our official charities/entities by way of sponsorship or donations, however we do not restrict any fundraising for other charities.
All entrants into the Accuro Jersey Triathlon can set up their own online fundraising page. Once you have signed up to the tri and selected which charity/entity you would like to fundraise for, you will be emailed details of how to set up your own fundraising page. If you have already entered the race then we will email you with instructions on how to set up your own personal online fundraising page. A printable sponsorship form will also be available soon.

Brightly (formerly known as Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity) is a small, independent Jersey charity who offers financial support to children and young people from birth to 25 years, who are being looked after in Government of Jersey care, leaving care, or foster care, as well as others who are suffering adversity and are in need.

Our support is intended to create positive experiences and opportunities for these children and young people with the aim of helping individuals move towards independence.

Dementia Jersey (formally known as Jersey Alzheimer’s Association) was formed in 2010 to support everyone in the Island affected by Dementia. Since 2012 the charity has experienced a dramatic 235% increase in demand for their services. Jersey now has over 1600 people diagnosed with some form of dementia and there are are many more that we are not aware of.

The charity seeks to raise awareness and provide support with the overall aim to make Jersey a dementia friendly island. The charity provides Dementia Friend’s awareness sessions which seeks to give people a basic understanding and insight into dementia. The disease can affect all ages and therefore several companies have seen the benefit of learning a little more to better help their customers and their staff, who may have the pressures of caring for family members or be having difficulties themselves.

Oscar Maclean Foundation

Oscar Maclean (9 March 2004 - 26 October 2013) was a Proper Hero. He lived a short but action packed life, during which he managed to write a spy novel, acquire endless party invitations, take part in numerous sports and receive various other achievement awards, establish a great bunch of friends, had a love of sport and all things fun, and demonstrated endless bravery and dignity beyond his years in the face of great adversity.

Oscar has shown an incredible fighting spirit against his deadly enemy- a Grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma, a malignant brain tumour that eventually stole his young life away from him. But it will never succeed in stealing his wonderful memory away from any of those who knew him. For today and with every single day to come, we will try to change this world into a slightly better place by supporting worthy community causes aimed to help young Cancer patients in Jersey and their families, in Oscar's name.

A 2015 project that we helped to deliver is the funding of a children's Community Liaison Officer, who will be based at the Hospital. The Liaison Officer will be co-ordinating vital support for children with cancer and other chronic illness and their families - practical, financial and emotional. At present, some of these functions are fulfilled by different charities and departments, but the appointment of a single officer who will coordinate the entire support structure for a family will mean that parents will be able to focus on their child at the time when they need it most, instead of spending hours on the phone calling various charities, states departments or other service providers. Please help us by showing your support in memory of this gorgeous little boy.
